Premium Bikes Take the Lead: Trends Shaping India's Two-Wheeler Market in 2025

Premium bikes are shaking things up in India’s two-wheeler market this year. Even with GST hikes and shifting tastes, the premium segment just keeps rolling. Let’s take a closer look at what’s going on in 2025.

Premium bikes didn’t just hold steady—they climbed. Sales jumped 4% this year. Clearly, riders want more than just a ride; they want performance, style, and a bit of adventure. Royal Enfield, Harley-Davidson, and BMW are still crowd favorites, and there’s a buzz around new bikes like the Triumph Speed 400 and the BMW G 310 RR. Premium bikes now make up 7.2% of all two-wheeler sales, up from 6.5% last year.

Then there’s electrification. It’s not just a buzzword anymore. Models like the Ather 450 Apex are out, and bikes like the Bajaj C400 X are on the way. Ather Energy, Bajaj, and TVS are pushing ahead, though high prices and patchy charging spots still get in the way.

There’s plenty of fresh metal coming, too. 2025 is packed with launches—Triumph Speed T3, Harley-Davidson X440, BMW G 310 GS, just to name a few. More young riders are getting into premium bikes, drawn by cool tech and the chance to make their bikes their own.

Government policies? Well, they’re a mixed bag. The GST hike for bikes over 350 cc put some pressure on prices, but brands are finding ways to adapt. Some states offer perks for electric vehicles, but premium bikes could use more support.

All in all, premium bikes are on a roll. With new launches and a growing fanbase, manufacturers have plenty to play for—if they keep focusing on innovation, performance, and a greener ride.
